Social Security at 67 or 70

W represents income received starting at age 67

X represents income received starting at age 70

Y represents income received from age 67 to age 70

Z represents the number of months to break-even

MRA of 67 = W

W*1.24% = X

W*36 Months = Y (number of months from age 67 to 70)

Y / (X-W) = Z

Plug in any numbers that you choose and calculate that it will take 150 months to reach the break-even point (also, 150 divided by 12 equal 12.5 years)

Age 70 plus 12.5 equals 82.5
